Fructose Malabsorption Test

Fructose malabsorption occurs when undigested fructose is carried to the colon and devoured by our normal bacteria. This produces gases which cause the intestine to swell and may cause feelings of gas, bloating or cramping.

You will be asked to drink 12 oz. of regular soda (Coke, Pepsi or 7-up) 3 hours before the test. A total of 2 breath samples will be taken over the span of about 15-20 minutes to determine if you have fructose malabsorption.
